Since 2015, our team has been working hard every day on software to automatically classify, anonymise, parse, process and validate (data from) documents and images. As a result, Klippa now processes millions of documents and images per month, from customers all over the world.
To realise our ambitious growth plans, we are looking for a Lead AI Engineer for our Groningen office. In this role, you will be responsible for our AI strategy, ML operations, the knowledge level of the AI engineers and, of course, improving our model performance and resource efficiency.

As Lead AI engineer, you will work closely with our CTO, AI engineers (8FTE) and our in-house annotation team in Romania (5FTE).

Who are we looking for?
As a Lead AI Engineer, you have a real passion for technology and AI. You have already gained a lot of experience applying AI in practice. Preferably in a B2B environment. You have a clear vision about the future of AI. You take pleasure in leading and coaching others. You know how important ML operations and resource efficiency are. You still enjoy being hands on in programming and models training & optimization. You are ambitious, have a practical mindset and know how to get from scratch to production in an efficient way.
Furthermore, you have:
– At least 6 years’ working experience with Python (and other languages)
– At least 4 years’ working experience with data analysis and machine learning.
– Knowledge of Docker, Scikit learn, Tensorflow, Pandas and Pytorch, among others.
– Experience with NLP and Computer vision.
– Experience with MLOperations.
– Experience coaching other AI engineers and developers.
– Speaking fluent English is a requirement, Dutch is a plus.
– Knowledge of OCR, Yolo, LayoutLM, ClearML and Kubernetes would be great.
