Klippa Secures Renowned International Certification – the ISO27001
Press Release | July, 2023
For an organization that handles immense amounts of data, in the form of millions and millions of documents, the ISO 27001 certificate validates Klippa’s efforts to best protect its customers, partners, and stakeholders. The new international standard comes in just one year after the AI-driven tech business received its first such certification – the ISO 9001.
If the latter focuses on effectiveness and quality of the management system, the former facilitates organizations in overcoming security breach threats. When companies do not properly secure information, they become vulnerable to a range of business risks, including but not limited to breaches, financial loss, irreversible reputation damage and even prosecution.
According to Forbes, the ISO 27001 certification helps, among others, to identify and heal vulnerabilities, improve cyber security, and have an independent third party constantly assessing risks. The standard offers broad benefits in complying with frameworks such as the now famous GDPR, the NIS2 directive, or the American HIPAA rules. By demonstrating this level of compliance, companies gain credibility and improve brand awareness.
To the Klippa workforce, set to grow 200 strong in the following years, the new ISO means taking a proactive approach by not storing any work related documents or data on external devices or public clouds, or by always using two-factor authentication and encrypted software.
At Klippa we have always taken information security very seriously. We therefore already had an internal security & compliance framework in place. In the past 9 months we enhanced our Information Security Management System to be in compliance with the requirements of ISO 27001. This external certification proves the maturity of our organization and I am personally very proud of it.
