About the job
At Klippa we have ambitious plans. In terms of growth of sales, the team and certainly in terms of our products. Therefore, we are constantly searching for the next step. As Head of Engineering you play a major role within our products. With your ambition and entrepreneurship you know how to bring the Klippa products and developers to the next level. A level that can continue to support our international growth of over 100% per year. This is a challenge that you like to take, even though you understand that it won’t always be easy.
In the role as Head of Engineering you are responsible for a team of 25 developers with different expertises. You determine the development vision, stimulate knowledge sharing within the team, coach developers 1 on 1 and inspire the developers to further professionalize and develop themselves. You bring the team to a higher level and ensure predictable and efficient development output. Furthermore, you support the recruitment process so we can grow the development team from 25 to 50 people.
Other responsibilities are:
– Further professionalization and optimization of our development processes.
– Further professionalization and optimization of our server infrastructure. – Optimizing and integrating (new) technologies.
– Formulating and realizing development goals and projects, so that the development team is further expanded and meets the needs of the Klippa.
Who are you?
You are a technology and software enthusiast. Someone who has extensive experience with all aspects of software, but is ready for a (new) position within an agile working environment. A position in which you are and remain involved with technology, but where you are no longer involved in the code on a daily basis. A strong level of knowledge in the code-technical field is still important. Because if things get really difficult, or an MVP has to be made quickly, you will sometimes have to step in. Of course it is important that you are a team player, possess natural leadership and enjoy coaching others. Experience as a team lead or trainer of a development team is therefore prefered.
At Klippa we work with a stack of Go (backend), Typescript / Angular / Nativescript (frontend) and Python (AI models). We also use Gitlab, Docker and Azure servers with Kubernetes. Of course you don’t necessarily need to have experience with exactly this stack, but a healthy interest in our stack and experience with similar languages is definitely a plus.
Furthermore we expect that you:
– Have experience as a senior developer with managerial and supervisory tasks;
– Be fluent in English, Dutch is an advantage.
Klippa is an ambitious software scale-up that is now 6 years old. From our offices in Amsterdam, Groningen and Brasov (Romania) we work with approximately 50 specialists, on building and selling technologically advanced SAAS solutions. Our domain is the fintech and accounting market, which we serve with our off-the-shelf products (platform, web, app) as well as API-based solutions for claims and invoice processing, machine learning and data extraction (OCR). With these techniques we help organizations in SMEs, financial institutions and governments to digitize their current, analog processes. As a result, we achieve major time and cost savings for and with our customers. Our playing field is a very fast growing market with enormous opportunities worldwide. Klippa serves customers in 30 different countries and the team is therefore very international. For example, we have colleagues from the Netherlands, Germany, France, Mexico, Portugal and the UK. We like to work on the frontline of technology and are constantly improving and innovating!
